LAGUNA 69 TREKKING 馃帴

I think the mountains have something magical. Something that makes them powerful.

Although I have grown up and I have grown practically on the shores of the sea, the mountains have never stopped impacting me.

Capturing images of mountains is rare for those of us on the coast of Lima, which is actually a desert.

馃敶 How to get to Miraflores from Lima Airport?

The mountains on this side of the mountain range are full of vegetation.

To get to Laguna 69, you have to hike up to 4500 meters above sea level. That is the moment where you almost do not have oxygen to breathe, but it does not matter because you can enjoy the beauty of the landscape, and the turquoise waters of the lagoon.

Laguna 69 is located in Huascaran National Park, which is just northeast of Lima.

The only way to get there is by car or bus. The access to Huascaran National Park is the city of Huaraz.

The whole trail takes about 3 hours, and it is completely worth it!

The trek is seen as medium to hard. so you have to be sure you are in shape.

The altitude could be the most challenging factor, so try to take it at your own pace.

✈️ HOW TO TRAVEL TO PERU 馃嚨馃嚜

The idea of traveling self-organized or traveling with a group through Peru (specially Cusco) is based primarily on your personal interests and ideas, but also on your time availabilityyour finance situation, travel destinations as well as your own personal travel experience.

馃敶 How to get to Miraflores from Lima Airport?

In an organized group travel, the most important sights are usually approached during a two to three week run travel.

The accommodations are reserved, the tour guide is almost always English-speaking and you don’t need to take care of almost nothing.

For those who have never been to Latin America, an organized trip is a perfect idea. However, the length of staying can hardly be broken out.

Another "disadvantage" of an organized trip is that  the travelers rarely visit the mysterious pre Inca ruins, the beautiful Amazon rainforest or the endless coastal deserts.

Additionally, traveling on your own around Peru requires some basic Spanish language skills, taking into account that English language is rarely understood by locals. Exploring by yourself require some prior travel experience and self discipline.

Lonely highlands regions or hidden jungle spots in Peru are especially attractive for many travelers, but it come to be difficult to reach them individually unless you spend a lot of time and money on it. On the other hand, there are some spots where hired travel agencies are required, like The Manu National Park or the Inka Trail itself.

Travel solo or with a travel partner?

Anyone who thinks that traveling alone is not a problem can be wrong. Solo travelers are widely admired everywhere, especially in Andean villages or remote areas, but they will depend on the goodwill of the people around.

Yes! there are some negative experiences in Peru. A trail in solitary or a jungle should never be undertaken alone.

Think of an emergency situation: Changes in the mountains weather, injuries, a sudden illness, etc. nobody else could help you or get proper help.

Knowledge of Spanish language and some local contacts are necessary for individual travelers.

Perhaps the most unproblematic travel partner is your girlfriend or wife, friend or husband. For sure, two friends or girlfriends are also a team, provided that a travel partner can be relied upon even in problem situations.

Of course you will see that different travel entitlements could lead to constant differences of opinion, such as the category of the hotel, quality of the food or the kind of transport.

Nevertheless, remember that with a good will, there will be situations that will be overtaken.

4 places to watch and enjoy the Sunset in Lima

Sunsets in Lima are amazing during summer. The sky is colourful, and the landscape is really georgous thanks to the merger of this three elements: the sun, the ocean and the beach.

Lima is the only capital in South America which is near to the sea. That is why peruvian culture is strongly linked to the sea, since that, Lima is a good place to practice paragliding and some other adventure sports.

I tapped into the opportunity to walk away from the loud of the city and shot some pics of these colourful sunsets in Lima.

In general, Lima has a lot of beautiful locations to enjoy a lovely sunset.

#1 Chorrillos

This one was taken in Chorrillos, a traditional district in Lima. In the background, you can see San Lorenzo island. In the foreground appears the Regatas Club.

#2 Miraflores - Parque del Amor

Another lovely spot is el Parque del Amor (Park of Love) where hundreds of couples spend hours watching the sea hugging the peruvian coast.

#4 Barranco

Barranco is one of my favourite places to visit, a bohemian and lovely place full of culture and tradition.

Many artist, poets and writers used to live here, and it is a place for tourists to visit, due to its architecture and this bohemian spirit.
